Helena had her first book, Puppet on a String, accepted by a London publisher at the age of nineteen. She is the author of eleven books and contributor to a further six, most are self-help books. She has written numerous articles for magazines and for four years was the Editor of the best selling Journal, The Christian Counsellor. She is a regular contributor to devotional monthly readings such as Inspiring Women Every Day and Living Light.
Helena is an international speaker and trainer addressing psychological and theological subjects. Her specialism is eating disorders. Speaking has taken her all over the world including: UK, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Malaysia, Cambodia, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Helena trained in counselling in the early 1990’s and has gone on to do many different trainings and CPD’s since. Her most recent training is as an Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Practitioner (LEAP). She mainly works in a group context facilitating therapeutic courses for eating disorder sufferers. For further information on these, visit Courses.
Helena was born in Africa and raised in the UK. Her interest in helping other people came about as a result of her own journey through trauma, dissociation and anorexia. She is registered visually impaired (having suffered from nystagmus and ocular albinism since birth). She is a committed Christian and has a passion to see wounded people operate with self-compassion. Her entire working career has been committed to research, writing and facilitating personal insight and restoration in others.
